European Packaging Symposium 2024
The European Packaging Symposium 2024 was mainly focused on PPWR implementation and sustainability.
Joining us directly from Australia via an online call was Nerida Kelton from the Australian Institute of Packaging. Her presentation focused on sustainable packaging design from a global perspective, including the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), of which she is a member. Gunda Rachut from the Foundation Central Packaging Register gave us an insight into the ins and outs of German packaging legislation. Jan Maršák from the Czech Ministry of the Environment shed light on the forthcoming PPWR legislation. As a welcome refresher in the overload of serious information, Michaela Chramostova from inGen brought us new perspectives on LinkedIn as an important place for personal and corporate presentation. Johannes Bergmair from the World Packaging Organisation outlined the Austrian perspective on the upcoming PPWR legislation and the new FSSC/BRS requirements for Food contact. Martin Pospíšil from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade spoke on the topic of export strategies for technology-oriented industries. Iva Werbynská from the SYBA Packaging Institute presented us with the fundamental differences in national packaging legislation across different countries in the EU.
